RAW MATERIAL AREA

Basil is a short-term plant, grown in abundance in the Red River Delta, along the provinces from Hung Yen, Hanoi, Ha Nam, and Ninh Binh.

Vietnamese basil has a much higher quality than Indian basil, with methyl chavicol content at least 75%, which is very popular with famous food flavoring companies.

HARVEST

When the tree matures and blooms, it is the time when the essential oil content in the plant is highest, then it will be cut off the entire part above the ground to put into distillation to collect the essential oil.

The tree after cutting will continue to bud, germinate and harvest the next batch. A year will harvest about 3 such crops, then the tree will grow slowly, next year must be replanted with a new tree.

 

 

 

 

 

DISTILL BASIL OIL

Distillation equipment uses steam distillation technology, heated through a large-capacity boiler.

The condenser uses beam condenser technology to ensure maximum efficiency. Each ton of basil plant yields about 4kg of essential oil.

APPLICATION OF BASIL OIL IN PRODUCTION

Food industry: Basil is an indispensable spice in ketchup, juice and pesto dishes, when combined with marjoram, it will produce a perfect pizza sauce. In addition, basil is also often used as a seasoning to marinate dishes from fish, poultry, beans, eggs, zucchini, carrots, potatoes, etc. Every year, Vietnam exports about 20-30 tons of basil essential oil to serve the food industry

Cosmetics industry: Since ancient times, basil has been used by Indians as an essential beauty herb thanks to its anti-acne, anti-inflammatory, and hair loss properties. In addition, basil is considered an excellent antioxidant herb thanks to its composition containing antibacterial active ingredients such as eugenol, limonene, estragole, myrcene, cineol, linalool… prevent the spread and growth of many bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, Yersinia enterocolitica, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Thanks to its antibacterial and antioxidant effects, basil essential oil is increasingly being included in cosmetic researches such as perfume scents, air deodorizers, insect repellents, sedative massages, and stress relievers. stress, anxiety, fungal products, dermatitis, hair care products….

According to estimates of demand forecast for basil essential oil in particular and spice essential oil in general, the consumption volume of basil essential oil will continue to increase in the near future thanks to the trend of using organic products in food.
