Vietnamese farmers are harvesting basil for essential oil distillation
When the tree matures and blooms, it is the time when the essential oil content in the plant is highest, then it will be cut off the entire part above the ground to put into distillation to collect the essential oil.
The tree after cutting will continue to bud, germinate and harvest the next batch. A year will harvest about 3 such crops, then the tree will grow slowly, next year must be replanted with a new tree.
Distillation equipment uses steam distillation technology, heated through a large-capacity boiler.
The condenser uses beam condenser technology to ensure maximum efficiency. Each ton of basil plant yields about 4kg of essential oil.
