RAW MATERIAL AREA

Ginger is a plant that loves moisture but does not tolerate waterlogging. It is suitable for growing in areas with short dry seasons and requires relatively high temperature conditions when harvesting roots. Vietnam is a country with many regions with suitable climatic conditions for ginger to grow such as: Thanh Hoa, Yen Bai, Hoa Binh, Lao Cai, Bac Giang, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, An Giang, Soc Trang, Central Highlands… In ginger root, the essential oil content accounts for 1-3%; That is, 100kg of ginger root can extract 1kg to 3kg of essential oil. Due to soil and climate conditions, the quality of Vietnamese ginger is highly appreciated, so the quality of ginger essential oil is also higher than in other countries.

CULTIVATION AND HARVESTING

Ginger is planted around the beginning of April (rainy season). It is necessary to choose good varieties, good soil and take care of the plants properly to bring high yields and the best quality of ginger root. After about 9 months, when it is time to harvest, the ginger leaves turn yellow and wither. When harvesting, you must dig carefully to avoid crushing the ginger root, affecting the quality of the ginger root and essential oil. The stems and leaves will be left at the planting site, covering the ground evenly.

GINGER ESSENTIAL OIL EXTRACTION

Vipsen extracts ginger essential oil using steam distillation. The distillation equipment uses steam distillation technology, heated through a large capacity boiler. The condenser uses beam forming technology to ensure maximum efficiency. After separating ginger essential oil from steam, the essential oil will be collected into separate containers to ensure uniformity and quality of the product. Finally, the essential oils will be stored in cold storage to preserve quality.
